Upper GI surgery refers to surgery of the upper gastrointestinal tract. Hepatobiliary (HPB) surgery is a specialist area of surgery that provides treatment for conditions of the liver, pancreas and biliary tract.
HPB Malignancy Referral Form
The hepatobiliary team has specialist expertise in the management of liver, pancreatic and biliary disease. This includes treatment of both benign and malignant conditions. This team includes surgeons, diagnostic/interventional radiologists, hepatologists, gastroenterologists, oncologists and pathologists. The HPB unit is also involved in the management of diseases of the gallbladder – both cancerous and non-cancerous (benign) diseases.

Our surgeons have a significant interest in surgery for hernias, including inguinal (groin) hernias and sports hernias ("Gilmore's Groin").
