There are four different psychiatry services linked to the Mater Hospital
Department of adult psychiatry – this is general adult psychiatry service for existing Mater Hospital patients. The patients are referred directly to us by their Mater Hospital consultant.
Addiction psychiatry – this is a service for patients with addiction to drugs or alcohol. It is for Mater Hospital patients who are referred to us by their hospital consultant.
Community adult mental health – this is a general psychiatry service for adults between the ages of 18 and 64 years of age. It is a HSE service and patients are referred in by their GP.
Psychiatry for older persons – this is a psychiatry service for persons 65 years of age and older. It is a HSE service and patients are referred in by their GP. Service is also provided to Mater Hospital patients.
